Chancel Choir
This choir leads the weekly 11:00 a.m. worship service and provides musical leadership at special services. There is an emphasis on a variety of musical styles so that all may be blessed and experience spiritual renewal.
Yearly musical events include a Service of Lessons and Carols, a Christmas Eve service, a Maundy Thursday service. Singers and instrumentalists are needed for these events. These are ideal short-term opportunities for those who love music but need a short-term commitment.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 until 8:45 in the sanctuary. The Chancel Choir is under the direction of Donna Rosser and Betty Cook.
Handbell Choir
There is an active 3-Octave Handbell Choir comprised of both members of First Baptist Church and other members of the community. You are invited to join the Handbell Choir is you read music and are available to practice each Sunday afternoon. The Handbell Choir rings during regular worship services and on other special occasions. The Handbell Choir has also rung at a number of special events in the community. The Handbell Choir is under the direction of Luann Lee.
Instrumentalists
Anyone who plays a musical instrument and is interested in sharing his/her gift is encouraged to contact Donna Rosser. Many anthems use trumpet, drums, oboe, strings or flute. Interested instrumentalists are encouraged to join in the music ministry of First Baptist Church.
Vocal Soloists
Vocal soloists may offer their talents by sharing in the worship service or special services. Anyone who is interested in singing a solo is encouraged to contact Donna Rosser.
Concerts
Several artists and musical groups have come to First Baptist Church to share their musical gifts including Kate Campbell, John Sines, Jr., and Pier 19
