Alice Bond

Parish Nurse

​

Alice Bond has served FBC as Parish Nurse for 12 years.  She is a native of Virginia, and moved to Altavista in 1961 with her husband. They became part of the FBC family and were later joined by their son, Kenneth, and foster children, Dale and Tina Dempsey.  Alice earned a nursing diploma from the Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Health Sciences and Religious Studies at Lynchburg College. While at LC she studied the life and theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, which remains a significant interest. Alice loves to read, especially mysteries. She has traveled extensively, both home and abroad.

Donna Ruff

Administrative Assistant

​

Donna has been the Administrative Assistant at First Baptist Church since 1996.  She is married to Marty Ruff and they have 5 adult children and 9 grandchildren and one very spoiled Yorkie, Toby. Donna graduated from Westhampton College (University of Richmond) with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and the beach.

     Rev. Alden Gallimore
                            Pastor

Rev. Gallimore began work as a Pastoral Assistant in 2019 and he graduated from Wake Forest University with a Master of Divinity in May 2022. While Alden will be a full-time pastor, he is also training to be a chaplain in the United States Navy. As a commissioned officer, Alden completed Officer Development School and an orientation course with the Chaplain Corps in Newport, RI during the summer of 2022. Originally from the small town of Powder Springs, Georgia, he earned a Bachelor of Music with a focus in classical guitar from Berry College. Alden met his wife Valerie while they were both working in the Berry College Chaplain’s Office where he served as a worship leader. They were married a few months after graduation in 2015.

Donna Rosser

Music Minister

​

Donna serves as our Director of Music.  She also plays the pipe organ and the piano.  Donna is a native of Orange, Virginia and has two adult children and three grandchildren.   She graduated from Westhampton College (University of Richmond) and James Madison University and is a retired middle school math teacher.
