Roy N (Pete) Ford, Jr. is retired from Roy N. Ford Co. Inc. and has served as a pastor and an interim pastor in Virginia and North Carolina. He attended Dan River High School, the University of Richmond, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He is married to June Henderson, and live in Danville with their dog, Charlie and their cat, Pumpkin. They have a son, Kevin who is married to Pam and 2 granddaughters Addison and Nicolette, who are 18.
Alice Bond has served FBC as Parish Nurse for 12 years. She is a native of Virginia, and moved to Altavista in 1961 with her husband. They became part of the FBC family and were later joined by their son, Kenneth, and foster children, Dale and Tina Dempsey. Alice earned a nursing diploma from the Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Health Sciences and Religious Studies at Lynchburg College. While at LC she studied the life and theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, which remains a significant interest. Alice loves to read, especially mysteries. She has traveled extensively, both home and abroad.
Donna has been the Administrative Assistant at First Baptist Church since 1996. She is married to Marty Ruff and they have 5 adult children and 9 grandchildren and one very spoiled Yorkie, Toby. Donna graduated from Westhampton College (University of Richmond) with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and the beach.
Director of Music
Donna serves as our Director of Music. She also plays the pipe organ and the piano. Donna is a native of Orange, Virginia and has two adult children and two grandchildren. She graduated from Westhampton College (University of Richmond) and James Madison University and is a retired middle school math teacher.
