Altavista Area Ministerial Association
First Baptist Church supports the ministry of the Altavista Area Ministerial Association. The Association is represented by the ministers of the Altavista Area churches. The AAMA hosts an Annual Leadership Conference, weekly Community Lenten Services, a Community Thanksgiving Service, and a creche' during the season of Advent.
DAWN, (Donation a Week Neighbor)
DAWN provides assistance to those who are in need of emergency assistance such as food, clothing,fuel, electric bills, etc. DAWN is located behind the Altavista Fire Station on Main Street.
Second Helping
Second Helping is a lunch provided each week for the needy in the community. It is held each Wednesday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Altavista Presbyterian Church on Broad Street.
Staunton River Baptist Association
First Baptist Church is a cooperating member of the Staunton River Baptist Association. The Association has 18 churches which join together in mission and ministry.

Altavista Area/Campbell County Habitat for Humanity
FBC partners with the Altavista Area/Campbell County Habitat for Humanity which seeks to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for individuals and families who qualify for assistance.

Frannie's House is a domestic violence shelter for women and children in the Altavista area.
