Worship

We believe the worship of God is central to the Christian experience. We encourage a strong, regular practice of coming into the presence of God as a community of faith to express our love and adoration for Him.  We gather each Sunday morning at 10:28 a.m. for worship.

The traditional Christian calendar guides our worship.  We observe Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost.  At each service, there are hymns, choruses, prayers, litanies and special music that aid us in expressing our worship of God.  The Lord's Supper is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Music plays an integral part in the spiritual life of First Baptist Church.  There is an emphasis on a variety of musical styles, from 15th century to contemporary.

The Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening.  It offers singers an opportunity to quickly become a part of the worship life of the church.   There is also an adult handbell choir that plays in worship and at special services.
